Summary: Use this article to learn how to reset the Wi-Fi configuration for a PowerView Gen 2 Secondary Hub.
Body:
If the user changes the Wi-Fi password or replaces the router after the original wireless configuration setup, the Wi-Fi for a PowerView® Gen 2 Hub will need to be reconfigured. If a user has multiple hubs, there may be additional steps after resetting the Wi-Fi configuration of the primary hub. A secondary hub that was used wirelessly on the previous network would connect as a secondary on a wired connection but when you move it to another position for a wireless connection, it would still be looking for the old WiFi network and with the inability to find it, it would show a red LED.
For secondary hubs that were wirelessly configured, a full reset is required followed by a Wi-Fi configuration setup in order for it to connect to the new network. Follow these steps to configure the Wif-Fi on the secondary hub:
- Make sure that the primary hub is configured correctly. The primary hub should be connected to power and its LED should be solid blue. You can find instructions for reconfiguring the primary hub here.
- Delete the secondary hub showing in the app. You can do this by selecting the Menu, “Hub,” and then pressing the “i” button next to the secondary hub. Then select the option to delete.
- Reset the secondary hub by pressing and holding the R button on the back of the hub until the light turns off on the front of the hub. Release the button.
- Remove the ethernet cable (if connected), but leave the power connected. The hub will blink aqua. Wait for the hub LED to turn magenta.
- Open the PowerView App and where it lists hubs, it will show a new “WiFi Hub” with the option to configure for WiFi. Follow the Wi-Fi configuration sequence as instructed in the app. When fully configured the hub LED will turn solid green.
- In the app, open the Menu and select “Hub.” NOTE: Primary hub will be listed with all secondary hubs beneath it. To access a secondary hub’s information, including to rename it, simply select it from this list.
