Summary: Use this article to learn more about PowerView repeater updates.

Answer: Repeaters out of the box are on firmware 2.0.1298 and will require an update if the installation includes a PowerView® Hub. Repeater firmware cannot be updated without a hub. Updating the repeater firmware will improve signal strength, along with giving the user more control over the light on the repeaters. If installers or customers are having trouble with repeater signal and functionality, it is a good idea to check that they have the most recent firmware revision. At the time of this article's latest update, the most recent firmware version is 2.0.2928. To confirm the most up-to-date firmware version, please contact Customer Service.

To receive the update, repeaters must be plugged in, on the same PowerView Network as the primary hub and discovered in the PowerView App. Repeaters must be discovered in the app before a firmware update is possible, meaning a repeater update is not possible until the hub setup is complete and a discovery has been run. Repeater firmware cannot be updated without a hub.

Once the repeaters have been discovered in the PowerView App, they will update overnight. This process may take a few minutes. Repeaters will flash as they update from firmware version 2.0.1298 but will not flash on subsequent automatic updates.

A repeater update can also be forced by pressing and holding the P button on the back of the hub until the hub LED turns solid amber. The hub will then look for and apply any updates to hubs and repeaters. If the repeater fails to update, unplug it and move it closer to the hub. Then force the update one more time. Forced updates will cause the repeater to flash. Subsequent automatic updates, taking place overnight, will not flash.
